| Q: Can you follow the natural curve of my location? A: Yes, the R-Rap pre-packaged concrete rip-rap makes it easy to follow the natural curves and contours of a site. The final result is a rugged, aesthetically pleasing barrier to the elements…an armor that protects land, yet becomes part of the fabric of nature. Q: Are there any gaps between the "stones?" A: In place, R-Rap looks like a wall of hewn field stone, But gaps between individual “stones” are almost infinitesimal. The tight fit and the high strength of cured concrete create an extremely strong barrier. Q: Will water still flow over the "stone?" A: A wall of R-Rap presents a wearable surface for water to run over, or up against, constantly or intermittently. Q: I am worried about heavy machinery destroying my lawn. Does the construction crew use heavy equipment and concrete trucks? A: Unlike poured concrete, R-Rap requires no costly forms, concrete pumps or finishing equipment. At the site, individual packages are simple to set in place and there’s no need for high priced labor and equipment. Unlike stone rip-rap, R-Rap requires no heavy machinery. It takes less space than crushed rock, maintenance is easier and it’s less subject to erosion. Q: I have multiple types of terrain, on which I would like to solve erosion problems. Can you help me? A: Absolutely, R-Rap can be individualized to meet the demands of different projects. It can be stacked, stair-stepped or laid side by side to create the configuration that’s right for the job. Q: Will the "stone" ever shift or move? A: The individual bags are pinned with rebar for added strength. Hosing them down speeds curing, or they may be left to moisten by the elements. A completed wall of R-Rap will flex with subsurface movement without damage to its structural integrity. Q: How do the walls withstand the pressure of the earth behind it? A: R-Rap eliminates the problems that normally destroy walls by using a unique method of constructing the wall to flex, reducing hydraulic pressures behind the wall and using a toe plate to prevent undermining on the front side of the wall. Q: What quality are the R-Rap "stones?" A: R-Rap’s top quality cement, sand and aggregate mixture is contained in biodegradable brown paper bags. These bags are specially designed and wrapped with polyester reinforced scrim to maintain their uniformity. Q: Are there any safety advantages to installing an R-Rap erosion control barrier? A: In addition to the beauty of the wall, there are safety factors built into the R-Rap wall.
